Anthony Joshua has given his assessment on the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight.

The boxing icon and YouTuber-turned-boxer will battle it out on July 20th in an event that will be broadcast by Netflix.

Although it is certain to be a lucrative fight for both men many in the sport have been critical of the clash.

The main concerns being Mike Tyson’s age and recent health issues.

In an episode of Jonathan Ross that is due to be broadcast on Saturday, Joshua was asked for his thoughts on the controversial showdown.

He said: “He [Mike Tyson] is older now. I pray that he comes out healthy. I think Jake Paul [wins] because of youth – that’s the only thing.”

He went on to praise the ever growing but controversial to many influencer boxing scene.

He continued: “I personally think it’s really good.

“I think the boxing hardcores, they don’t like it because they think ‘Why are they disrespecting our sport?’

But I think that person brings all these people into boxing which benefits everyone else. Everyone viewing helps.”

Joshua is currently on a four fight win streak since back-to-back defeats to Ukrainian, Oleksandr Usyk.

In his last outing he blitzed Francis Ngannou and put him to sleep in just two rounds.

Next up for ‘AJ’ is a rumoured Wembley showdown with the winner of Filip Hrgovic and Daniel Dubois.
