Kurt Angle has revealed that the plans for him to return to the WWE have been scrapped, for reasons unknown.
Kurt Angle previously confirmed on his podcast that he had been in communication with the company over making a return to the WWE.
“I did [receive a call] from WWE and they want me to be involved in the show for the next month or so. I’m really excited about it, so we’ll see what’s in store for me.”
It’s not entirely clear what has changed since that day, but any proposals for Angle to make his return have now seemingly been put in the bin.
Angle, once again speaking to his fans via his podcast, revealed the last-minute cancellation of his proposed WWE return.
“The WWE wanted me to do a short program that they ended up cancelling at the last second. But I want to make it clear, I’m not signed with the WWE.”
“They weren’t going to sign me anyway. It was gonna be a three-week program. It got cancelled, but you know my obligation is to the show, the Kurt Angle show, and that’s it.”
There has been no explanation provided for the decision not to proceed with the idea of Angle returning to the WWE.
Even if it was not going to be permanent, you can be sure that WWE fans will be disappointed not to see him back in the ring.
