Juventus have confirmed via their official website that Andrea Pirlo has left the club, with Massimiliano Allegri expected to replace him.

The managerial merry-go-round continues. After Antonio Conte and Zinedine Zidane departed Inter Milan and Real Madrid respectively, Juventus too have now decided to change manager.

It was expected, and now it’s confirmed, with Juventus confirming via their official website and social media channels that former midfielder Andrea Pirlo has departed after one season in charge.

According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Massimiliano Allegri, after two years away from Turin, is set to return to pick up the pieces, an announcement which should follow in due course.

Juventus, despite winning the Serie A title under Maurizio Sarri, have not looked the same since Allegri departed. With him he brings a sense of stability and assurance.

Pirlo was fortunate enough to steer Juve into the Champions League qualification places, thanks to a final day bottle from Napoli, so the stage is set for Allegri to turn the Old Lady back into contenders.
