Anthony Joshua does NOT want to fight Oleksandr Usyk again, claims Frank Warren

Frank Warren isn’t convinced that Anthony Joshua will agree to fight Oleksandr Usyk for a second time, report talkSPORT.

Warren, who won the purse bids for Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte, has now delivered the contract to Whyte and his lawyers with the bout now only pending official confirmation.

He has successfully engineered a WBC heavyweight title fight involving two of the UK’s finest pound-for-pound fighters. Warren will be (not-so) quietly delighted with himself.

It remains to be seen if Eddie Hearn will have equal success in staging the second edition of Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk, which was held in September and cost AJ all his belts.

The Briton has confirmed his desire to use the rematch clause in the contract, but Frank Warren is not convinced that the fight will ever actually happen, as he told talkSPORT.

“I don’t think Joshua will. That’s my opinion. I don’t think he fancies that rematch at the moment.”

“Hearn has his hands full now, he’s got that fight to get on and why does he keep banging on about what we’re doing for?”

With the step aside deal now off the table, fighting Usyk and having the opportunity to become a THREE-TIME unified heavyweight champion of the world is Joshua’s best option.

He can only keep himself in the hunt to be the undisputed heavyweight champion by having belts around him – and currently, he has none. He simply HAS to take this fight.
