Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has said he’d like to go for a pint with former Celtic boss Neill Lennon following his resignation earlier this week report Metro.

Gerrard said he hopes to share a consoling pint with Lennon ‘once the dust settles’ on his resignation at Celtic.

Lennon resigned with from his position at Celtic this week after the Hoops fell 18 behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.

Following his resignation Rangers boss Steven Gerrard told reporters ‘I know Neil as a guy, I know his family from holidaying in the same areas and he’s a good guy,’

‘He has been a big supporter of my charity over the years. Obviously we have to put that aside when you are big rivals and I have enjoyed the battles and going toe-to-toe with Neil on the sideline.

‘He’s a good coach, a good manager. I’m sure once the dust settles, we can share a pint again.’

Lennon took charge of the Scottish giants for a second time in February of 2019 when Brendan Rodgers left and led the club to two titles, two Scottish Cups and a League Cup.

Celtic currently trail their bitter city rivals Rangers by 18 points in the league as Steven Gerrard’s men look set to win the league and a bitter defeat to Ross County on Sunday was the last straw for Lennon.
