🚨One of the world’s biggest clubs charged with corruption after paying millions to former referee😬

Barcelona has been charged with corruption after being caught paying £7.4 million to the former vice president of Spain’s referee committee. 

The Catalan club was indicted on Friday for corruption in court after it was revealed that they had paid millions to Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, the former vice president of the Spanish referee committee.

The club reportedly paid £7.4 million to Negreira between 2001 and 2018.

Barcelona have been charged with corruption, after payments totalling over €7.3m were made to the ex-vice-president of Spain’s referees’ committee, between 2001 and 2018.

Former Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, was in charge of the club for the majority of that period and is also being investigated.

If found guilty, the club may be severely punished, including not being able to compete in the Champions League next season, according to Sport.
