Tadhg Beirne was spotted on crutches after Irelands win on Saturday evening.

Andy Farrell’s side now tops the Six Nations standings after an impressive 32-19 over France at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.

The game, especially the first half, was played at a relentless pace with neither team willing to give the other an inch of breathing room. We witnessed some incredible pieces of quality, like James Lowe’s try but also a couple of bug hits.

Rob Herring was hit full force in the chest and jaw by 24-stone Uini Atonio and had to be removed for HIA, the same Frenchman then landed on Johnny Sexton’s leg later in the game, giving him a dead leg.

But the worst injury out of the lot was suffered by Tadgh Beirne, who was spotted on crutches after the full-time whistle.

There are major concerns over his ability to play another Six Nations game this year with Farrell stating that “it’s not looking great for Tadhg”.

Sexto may well be rested for the upcoming Italy game and Herring is still undergoing HIA treatment.
