🚨 Tipperary GAA dealt MAJOR injury blow

Tipperary’s captain and star player, Conor Sweeney has been ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing his cruciate ligament in a disaster for his side.

He suffered the injury during the county’s loss to Down in the final few moments of the game.

“He’s after doing a full ACL,” said manager David Power after the match.

“He’s going up to Santry now. It’s a season-ending injury unfortunately for Conor.

“It’s very disappointing but whatever about Tipperary, it’s disappointing more for Conor because he puts so much into it. I know it’s hurting him a lot at the minute but that’s the way sport is. It can be very cruel at times.”

This just adds to Tipp’s injury troubles as they are also without both Conal Kennedy and Paudie Feehan.

In Sweeney’s absence, it was announced that the new vice-captain Steven O’Brien will take over the role as captain.
