News coming out of Tipperary GAA tonight is that  former Tipperary minor captain and Roscrea club stalwart Noel ‘Barney’ Hogan had passed away.

“His contribution to hurling left a lasting legacy, and his achievements on the field will be fondly remembered by teammates, supporters and the wider GAA community across the county.” said Tipperary GAA.

Tipperary GAA wish to express their sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Noel 'Barney' Hogan, Roscrea who passed away recently. Noel captained the Tipperary Minor hurlers during the 1961 championship

We’d also like to send our deepest condolences to Noel’s close family and friends at this time.

Tipperary will be a lot of people’s favourites to do two in a row this year. Fair play to Liam Cahill and the level he got his Tipp team too, to finally life the Liam McCarthy cup after all those years of hurt.
