Major blow for Arsenal with key figure ruled out for THREE MONTHS with ‘significant’ knee injury

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is set to spend three months on the sidelines after suffering a serious knee injury in the North London Derby.

Xhaka was involved as Arsenal defeated Tottenham 3-1 at the Emirates, but the Switzerland skipper limping off injured was a lingering negative over a day to remember for the Gunners.

Unfortunately for Mikel Arteta, the damage done to Xhaka was as serious as it seemed at the time, with The Sun reporting that he’s set to miss up to three months of action.

Arsenal have confirmed that Xhaka “suffered a significant injury to his medial knee ligament” during the clash with Tottenham.

Xhaka has been pictured in a knee brace on his Instagram page and you get the impression he’s going to be wearing some sort of support for a considerable period of time.

Arsenal are light in the middle of the park, so it remains to be seen just how they will cope without Xhaka fit and available.

All it’d take is another Thomas Partey injury for the cards to come tumbling down…
