Barcelona manager Xavi has been denied entry to the USA ahead of his side’s pre-season tour.
Barcelona, despite being in grave financial difficulty, have been one of the most active clubs in the summer transfer market to date.
With Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen already tied up, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski have both followed to the Nou Camp.
All four players are expected to be involved in Barca’s tour of the USA – but will their new manager be there?
As is reported by the Mirror, Xavi was denied access to the USA as he has visited Iran three times in the last five years.
Xavi spent several years as a player and manager at Al Sadd before moving to Barcelona. He visited Iran while posted in Qatar.
The expectation is that Xavi will be able to find a solution through the Embassy, but it’s not the ideal start to Barca’s pre-season preparations.
