Women’s world no.3 Jessica Pegula is dubbed the world’s richest tennis player.
She suffered an early exit from Wimbledon this season, after losing to Italy’s Elisabetta Cocciaretto.
The American tennis star will be upset, but she has more than enough money to rely on beyond on-court success.
The 31-year-old is reportedly worth around $13 million, which is nowhere near the likes of Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, or Serena Williams.
However, her family has a net worth of over $7.5billion (£5.5bn) which makes her one of the wealthiest athletes in the world.
In fact, her family can even buy shares in Manchester United if they want to. In fact, they can buy the entire club.
The Red Devils are currently valued at around $6.6b (£5.2b). Pegula’s family can easily buy the entire club.
The Pegula family has no interest in buying Man Utd, which means the fans will have to stick with the present owners.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS haven’t exactly delivered since taking charge in February last year.
Under his ownership, United have dismissed nearly 500 different employees, while the Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League last season, their lowest standing since 1992.
