Dillian Whyte reveals embarrassing sum he banked from Anthony Joshua fight

Dillian Whyte has revealed that he banked merely £300 for his win over Anthony Joshua at amateur level.

It is perhaps the biggest achievement of Whyte’s career that he has a win against the former unified heavyweight champion of the world to his name.

Granted, he was stopped by Joshua when they met at professional level, but Whyte still loves to bang on about the fact he once got the better of AJ.

Sadly for Whyte, he didn’t bank any kind of considerable sum for his win over one of the greatest British boxers of all time. Rather, he was paid just £300.

Whyte is quoted by The Sun revealing all, “I remember, I had an amateur fight somewhere and I beat the guy, I think it was the Joshua fight, and the coach comes to me and he gave me like 300 quid and he said, ‘this is your exes,’ and I was like ‘what?’.”

Whyte has gone on to earn millions upon millions in his professional career and is never going to be short of cash, so it all worked out for him well.

Still, putting your body on the line for a mere £300 takes a serious kind of character. Whyte must really love his fighting to go to war for that price…
