Tiger Woods’ on course troubles continued yesterday as he started the US Open with a round of ten over par – the third consecutive round in the 80s for the struggling major winner.
One clip perfectly sums up the tribulations of the former World Number One. Woods was attempting a shot out of the rough on the eighth hole but, not only was the shot unsuccessful, he also lost control of his club and sent it flying through the air.

The golfer’s frustration was palpable as he watched his club soar through the air behind him.
Woods did manage to rescue par on that hole, but finished 15 shots off the lead and is unlikely to make the cut.
It looks set to be another dismal weekend for the Florida native – incredibly, it is now seven years since he last won a major.

Woods admitted “it was a tough day” in his post-round interview, but remained upbeat – even joking that at least he beat fellow American Rickie Fowler, who carded 81.
