As if 3,350 kilometres of cycling in 23 days wasn’t tough enough to negotiate, a herd of cows almost ended a French cyclist’s Tour de France hopes today.
Warren Barguil, the 9th-placed rider and one of the home favourites, was involved in a high-speed descent when he met a herd of cows seeking fresh grass on the other side of the road.
Thankfully Barguil was able to slow down, avoid the cows and continue on his pursuit of the peloton.
It must be bad enough cycling 188km up and down hills without having to negotiate cows in the road #tourdefrance pic.twitter.com/ecbZ8sYHQB

Not that this is a new phenomenon…

At least these cows can now return to doing what they do best, wearing silly jerseys and taking part in ludicrous road-side displays.
