Meet Beau the ball dog, an employee of Knockbreda FC, a semi-professional, Northern Irish football club.

However, the lower you go down the football pyramid, the more likely it is that balls are getting stuck in bushes and never recovered, that or they’re just being left til the full-time whistle because nobody can be bothered to go and get it.

Knockbreda FC, a team of innovators, pioneers, have come up with a solution – use a dog instead.

It sounds bizarre, and it is, but the North Irish semi-pro side have a dog, named Beau, who fetches balls for them when they fly out of the ground, with no damage at all, not even a tooth mark, being made.
