The Lyon team bus was attacked by a group of fans as it made its way to the Stade Velodrome.
The Ligue 1 clash between Marseille and Lyon was suspended after the visiting team’s coach was pelted with stones as it approached the stadium.
Fabio Grosso, the Lyon manager, had to receive medical treatment after he suffered a head injury after shards of glass cut him.
The league had no choice but to abandon the fixture.
