“The proudest I’ve ever been of myself” – A brilliant post match interview from Villa youngster Louie Barry to cap his day off. Aston Villa were in a dire situation this morning as the entire first team had to self isolate due an outbreak of Covid-19 in the club so Dean Smith made up an XI out of Under-23s and Under-18s. They put up an amazing fight and went into the half time break drawing with the Premier League giants that featured many first team players.
He even revealed that he swapped shirts with the Liverpool centre back Fabinho before realising it was his debut shirt and had to get it back for memories sake. He even believed they could beat Jurgen Klopp’s side after his goal brought the sides level but it was meant to be as the score ended Aston Vila 1-4 Liverpool.
"I knew that I had it as soon as I saw it…"
"I've never been so proud, it all happened so quick!"
