Wales defeated Czech Republic 1-0 last night in their quest to qualify for the World Cup – and in no small part – they have Joe Rodon to thank for it.
You could be forgiven for being unfamiliar with Rodon prior to his move to Tottenham in January, but the 23-year-old looks likely to be a key figure in North London and for the Wales National Team for the foreseeable.

Rodon stepped up to the mark just when Wales needed him yesterday night to make a quite sensational block and deny Czech Republic an equalising goal in the 92nd minute of the contest.
With Ryan Giggs’ men only leading by the one goal heading into injury time, every Czech attack will have been contested with a degree of anxiety by the Welsh defenders.
Or so you would have thought – Rodon was the coolest man in the stadium. The Spurs star spotted the danger early and closed the gap between himself and the Czech attacker just in time to prevent the ball going past him.
This is titanic, last-ditch, remarkable defensive play. Hats off to you, Joe Rodon.
WHAT. A. BLOCK 🏴
