Liverpool’s Graeme Souness was incredibly critical of the quality of Premier League refereeing after last night’s games with Everton beating Liverpool and Fulham beating Sheffield United with controversial decisions in both games.
A very controversial decision from referee Chris Kavanagh awarded Everton a penalty when Trent Alexander-Arnold was on the floor and couldn’t move.
Decisions like this is exactly why Graeme Souness feels the Premier League has no referees in the World Cup.
"The last World Cup how many English referees did we have? None. That's how good our referees are…"

He also felt that referees are making it up as they go along with after Areola had an incredibly reckless challenge against Sheffield United, does Souness have a point?
