Gabriel Martinelli hammered home in the 87th minute to beat Manchester City in the league for the first time in eight years.
Arsenal have put an end to their 12-game losing streak in incredibly dramatic fashion in a very cagey affair.
Both sides looked toothless in attack as they consistently failed to create goalscoring opportunities, due mainly to the impressive defence displays on show.
But it was substitute Martinelli who would be the difference maker, as his strike arrowed past Ederson thanks to a Nathan Ake deflection.
