UFC female strawweight Kanako Murata faced off against 13th ranked Virna Jandiroba during Saturday night’s latest Fight Night.
Coming into the bout, both women were looking to claim a victory that would undoubtedly propel them to top 10 status.

However, in a cruel twist of events, during the fight’s second round, Japanese fighter Murata found herself caught in a vicious-looking armbar submission attempt.
Despite biting down on her mouth guard and refusing to tap out, once free, it quickly became apparent that her Brazilian opponent had done some serious damage.
As the fight went on, it became increasingly more obvious that Murata’s arm was hanging by her side – motionless.
At the end of the fight’s second round, the promotion’s doctors waved the fight off – declaring Jandiroba the bout’s winner via TKO.
