Darwin Nunez had a nightmare against Manchester City in the EFL Cup on Thursday night.Â
The World Cup only finished last weekend but domestic cup football is already back. Manchester City took on Liverpool on Thursday night in the round of 16 of the EFL Cup.

Erling Haaland picked up where he left off netting the first goal of the game after only 10 minutes. Despite the circumstances and the depleted squads that were on display, the game was intense and enjoyable.
Manchester City walked away 3-2 winners and will now play Southampton in the next round. But Liverpool could have easily won the game, that is if Nunez put away his chances.
The striker had a nightmare missing several clear-cut opportunities.

Fans even had a go at Nunez for missing a push on İlkay Gündoğan during a scuffle on the halfway line.

The Uruguayan has received plenty of stick for his comical performances this year but he has contributed seven goals in ten games in the league.
