Kerry showed class in difficult weather conditions at Fitzgerald Park to pick up their 77th Munster title and one of their most hard fought.
Among the crowd was a lone Confederate flag-waver. GAA President Aogán Ó Fearghail had that fans leave the flag behind them, due to its association with the church shooting in Charleston in June.
Meanwhile, the post-game thoughts of the Twitterati varied from those upset with the referee, to apathy at the Kerry win, to disillusionment with the Irish weather in July!
We’ve collected some of the best reactions to the game.
Nice to see Kerry win something for once 😕 #corkvkerry #gaa

Obvious difference between teams: Kerry defend well in depth & counter attack effectively, Cork defend well but then struggle. #CorkvKerry

I reckon Colm O'Rourke and Dessie Dolan are closet Cork fans with all of this positivity #corkvkerry @RTEsport

In hurling, Cork are Cork. In football, Cork are Cork. The same three words but the meanings couldn't be more different. #gaa #corkvkerry
