Turkish international footballer dead at 27 after car overturned in horror crash

Turkish international footballer Ahmet Yilmaz Calik has died aged 27 after being involved in a car crash, reports The Sun.

Calik made eight appearances for Turkey between 2015 and 2017, scoring one goal. He has been competing in the Turkish Super Lig with Konyaspor, who are in second-place at the time of writing.

Sadly, Konyaspor and Calik’s friends and family have been rocked by an immeasurable loss, with the defender having died in a car crash at around 9am local time on Tuesday morning.

Calik, who was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash, as per The Sun, lost control while at the wheel which resulted in his car overturning.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services to remove him from the vehicle and tend to his injuries, Calik was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, aged just 27-years-old.
