⚽️ Troy Deeney Claims Liverpool Could Dominate Premier League for Five Years With One Key Signing

Former Watford striker Troy Deeney believes Liverpool could win the Premier League for five consecutive seasons if they make one crucial signing this summer.

Deeney’s bold prediction came after Liverpool clinched the Premier League title with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday, April 27. The win secured Liverpool’s place at the top of the league and marked another remarkable achievement under new manager Arne Slot. With stars like Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Virgil van Dijk leading the way, Deeney praised Liverpool’s title-winning squad but suggested that one more high-profile signing could further elevate them.

Speaking on talkSPORT alongside Ally McCoist, Deeney said, “They’re linked with [Alexander] Isak as well. If they get that, just give them the title for the next five years.”

Alexander Isak has been in outstanding form for Newcastle United this season, scoring 22 goals in 31 league appearances. The 25-year-old Swedish striker is under contract with the Magpies until 2028 and could demand a transfer fee exceeding £150 million, attracting interest from several elite clubs this summer.

Deeney, who enjoyed a long and successful playing career, scoring 47 goals in 165 Premier League appearances for Watford between 2010 and 2021, also offered additional insights into areas where Liverpool could strengthen. He mentioned the need for a new left-back, as Andrew Robertson has been a fantastic player but is aging. He also highlighted the importance of adding another central defender to provide depth, and another midfielder to protect against injuries that could expose the team’s lack of depth.

Despite Liverpool’s current dominance, Deeney’s comments underscore the narrow margins at the top of English football, where one transformative summer signing could help the Reds maintain their status as one of the best teams in the Premier League for years to come. Next year could be different for the reds with other clubs looking to step up to match Liverpool, so they will need to keep on top of their game.
