The Premier League saw a surprising turn of events as Tottenham overturned an early lead of Manchester City, annihilating their opponents in a 4-1 win at White Hart Lane.
City have won the teams’ last four meetings, scoring 16 goals in the process – a nasty streak Spurs halted with an impressive comeback in which Harry Kane ended a 748-minute goal drought.
Incredible win and performance today. So many good performances. Lamela and Dier in particular were superb. #coys #spursvcity #Spurs

Come on you Spurs! What a performance, especially second half and so pleased Harry scored. Thought everyone put a shift in and deserved it..

Things had not started well for Mauricio Pochettino’s side as Kevin de Bruyne continued his impressive return to English football by slotting home the opener midway through the first half.
Great goal on the break! De Bruyne turning out to be a quality signing for City. 3 in 3

However, the game turned on a controversial leveller as Eric Dier netted on the stroke of half-time after a move started by the clearly offside Kyle Walker – a goal added to shortly after the break by Toby Alderweireld’s header.
Eric Dier Goal should not have counted, Kyle Walker was offside. Linesmen don't have functioning eyes.

Kane’s quick reactions after a Christian Eriksen free-kick came off the crossbar added to the feel-good factor, taken to new heights as Erik Lamela coolly turned home a fourth.
I still can't believe Lamela played so well. I never thought I'd see the day where he'd be man of the match, let alone against City:

Great result today. Lamela best game in a Tottenham shirt. Everyone excellent. Ali great player not afraid to get stuck in COYS

Despite Tottenham bagging the three-point victory, it seems goals standing, despite players being offside, is occurring too often this season.
Walker was unquestionably offside in the build-up to Tottenham’s equalising goal.
And, for all that Eric Dier’s finish was excellent, had it been disallowed (as it should have been) and City retained a 1-0 lead at half-time, the visitors would have been more likely victors.
I can understand the linesman missing de Bruyne's goal because it's so marginal, but not calling Walker offside for Dier's was criminal.

There were also arguments, of course, that their opening goal, from Kevin de Bruyne, should also have been disallowed for the same reason.
Kane sees the open goal but sticks it top corner for good measure. Oh, and he was offside. As was Dier. As was De Bruyne. #respecttheref
