With the great scenes we saw at the club finals this weekend, it’s awful to report that an U9’s player was attacked at a blitz in Thurles at the weekend, when a non-player enter the field of play.
The blitz was organised by Munster Council and they are investigating the matter. The Gardaí have also been contacted in relation to the incident.

The Gardaí are getting involved in this matter now also with a statement which said;
“Gardaí at Thurles were alerted shortly after 1pm on Saturday 15th October 2022 following an incident of alleged assault at a children’s sports event in Thurles.
“Enquiries into the matter are ongoing. As the incident involves young persons, An Garda Síochána will not be commenting further at this time.”
As a point, the gaa family can and should no longer look down their noses at their soccer cousins in terms of behaviour @saveciaranmurph @kenearlys
