Tipperary GAA has announced the passing of Paul McCarthy of Cappawhite, a former junior hurler who represented the county in 1958. As Tipperary Live reports.

McCarthy lined out for Tipperary in matches against Clare and Cork during the 1958 campaign, proudly wearing the blue and gold at junior level. A dedicated member of his local GAA community, he was remembered with great fondness by all who knew him.

We’d like to send our deepest condolences to Paul’s close family and friends at this time.

It’s been a great few weeks in Tipperary GAA with Tipperary picking up their 28th All-Ireland hurling title last month and they did it in style. Everyone in the country wrote them off, but Tipperary turned up and hurled Cork off the ball.
