The Scotland captain was talking on Jamie Carragher’s podcast Greatest Games Podcast where he was asked about Stevie Gerrard’s Rangers and he responded with;
“Well it’s done isn’t it – it’s in the bag (the league title),”
“No pressure, just wrap it up now. Obviously it’s a difficult situation coming into Liverpool training ground where everyone loves Stevie and wants him to do well. I want him to do well, but I’m a Celtic fan and I’ve been brought up not to like Rangers!”
Carragher jokes the podcast episode wiil be headlined ‘Andy Robertson doesn’t like Steven Gerrard’ but the Scottish international makes an admission over Gerrard’s possible future while also appreciating the job he has done in football management so far.
Robertson said: “No, because I think he’ll end up here one day!
“All jokes aside he’s done an amazing job up there, he’s closed the gap. He’s taken it to a new level this season and Celtic have struggled to keep up.
“Obviously I’m hoping they can still turn it around as it’d be historic but it’s not looking too good unfortunately.”
You got to love the rivalry in football and especially up in Scotland what a rivalry it is up there between the two Glasgow clubs. Is it gone beyond Celtic now?
