Some Brazilian news outlets are reporting that Jose Aldo has fractured a rib in training today.
Aldo was preparing for his eagerly anticipated UFC 189 fight with Conor McGregor, which is set for July 11th.
Globo, a Brazilian media organisation, reported that the injury was sustained while sparring, with a CT scan confirming the injury.
Treatment reportedly began immediately but a recovery time of 3 to 4 weeks is needed.
The reports are yet to be confirmed by Aldo’s camp but could put the bout with McGregor, to be held in 18 days time, in danger.
President of the UFC, Dana White, tried to encourage calm without confirming any details:
Relax everyone
