Rangers fans are said to be CRYING outside Ibrox after news broke that Steven Gerrard has taken the Aston Villa job.
Speculation intensified over the past 24 hours that Gerrard was interested in becoming the new Villa Head Coach and there was every possibility that this deal would go through.
Still, Rangers fans chose to bury their heads in the sand, insistent that the man who delivered their first SPL title for 10-years wasn’t going to jump ship mid-season.
Unfortunately, those who chose to delude themselves into believing he’d stick around have been left with egg on their face, with Gerrard’s appointment at Villa Park having been confirmed on Thursday morning.

Celtic fans will be absolutely loving this, but Rangers supporters ought to take some comfort from the fact they’re four points clear at the top of the SPL.
