Rafa Benitez could be set for a Liverpool return as he has ‘unfinished business’

Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez could be in line for a sensational return to the Reds as he has unfinished business according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague. (Via: Mirror)

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Balague said: “”There is a feeling of unfinished business with Rafa and Liverpool, I’ve always said that.

“Rafa would love to be the Liverpool manager at some point. Maybe in a time of crisis, proper crisis, not what’s happening now.

“Maybe in a time where there’s a need for a strong personality to steady a ship. But right now in the way that the owners are behaving and Klopp and everything, that situation doesn’t exist.

“How can we think that Klopp has reached the end of an era? Look at the bigger picture, how can anyone suggest that?

“It’s laughable. It’s stupid and absurd to be talking about a future without Klopp.”

There has been talk of a Jurgen Klopp exit with BILD reporting the German is twice as likely to leave Liverpool than see out his current contract at Anfield to become the next Germany manager.

It’s unlikely Klopp will leave this year and Benitez is still looking for a job which has led some people to suggest a reunion with his old captain Steven Gerrard will be on the cards.

The Celtic job is currently available following the departure of club legend Neil Lennon who resigned earlier this week.

Benitez joined Liverpool in 2004 to replaced Gerard Houllier and he spent six years at Anfield before leaving in 2010.
