(Video) Kubrat Pulev stops Frank Mir with BRUTAL first-round TKO… but what was the ref doing?

Posted by

Kubrat Pulev made a winning return to the ring with a first-round knockout victory over ex-UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir.

Pulev had not fought since being stopped by Anthony Joshua in December of last year. Mir had only fought in a boxing ring once previously, being beaten by Steve Cunningham earlier in 2021

In truth, Mir should not have been in there with a heavyweight as dangerous as Pulev, which was proven within the first round as the Bulgarian put his opponent out on his feet.

It was clear for the world to see that Mir was unable to continue in the contest, yet the referee, for whatever reason, neglected to intervene, allowing Pulev to land a free left hook.

Credit to Pulev, who has retained that famous punch power even in the latter years of his boxing career. This is one of the most outrageous refereeing performances we’ve seen in a while, though…
