The Premier League will NOT be paused, despite fears that the COVID-19 situation at some clubs is spinning out of control.
While it was previously worth naming the clubs with COVID-19 cases by name, it’s now safe to assume that all 20 Premier League clubs have at least one first-team player in self-isolation at this point in time.
Some have been hit harder than others, with Chelsea one of the biggest losers after the Premier League rejected their eleventh-hour request to have their clash with Wolves called off, but this is a league-wide problem.
Still, the Premier League will NOT be stopped, even though some clubs have raised their concerns in a meeting with those pulling the strings on Monday afternoon.

The Daily Mail report that there will not be any gameweeks cancelled to provide clubs with an opportunity to get the crisis under control, with clearer guidance as to what constitutes a postponeable game provided.
While some will see this as a naive move from the league, it’s important to remember that clubs are at different stages of their respective outbreaks. Sweeping cancellations would benefit some and harm others.
It’s better for the league to approach each team on a case-by-case basis and, hopefully, the less ambiguous thresholds for postponements will avoid any further Chelsea-esque controversies.
