Phil Foden equalised for Manchester City against Brentford on the stroke of half-time with a quite brilliant half-volley.
Man City, who are currently behind Arsenal in pursuit of the Premier League title, headed into today’s game in hope of signing off for the World Cup with a win.
However, after Brentford took the lead, it became clear that this would not be a routine afternoon’s work for Pep Guardiola and his reigning champions.
Man City huffed and puffed for the remainder of the first-half, but they were unable to break Brentford’s resolve, with the visitors standing firm.
That was, until the ball fell to Phil Foden on the half-volley and the England international lashed a stunning strike past David Raya and into the back of the net.
Fresh off a call-up into Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad, Foden justified his selection, as if he needed to, with a quite magnificent goal to draw the scores level.
Quite brilliant!
