Phil Foden has sent a message to Kylian Mbappe on Twitter after Manchester City booked a Champions League semi-final date with Paris Saint-Germain.
Foden fired home a quite sublime strike off the post late in the contest with Borussia Dortmund to ensure that the Premier League champions-elect would be safely progressing through to the next round of the competition.
The England international is one of the most promising young players on the planet, and will be coming up against arguably THE most promising young player on the planet in Kylian Mbappe.
Foden has passed the Erling Haaland test, having scored in both legs, with the Norwegian blanking, and now Mbappe is waiting in the wings – something that the City academy product seems pretty excited about.
Soon after the full-time whistle had blown in Dortmund, Foden unlocked his phone and @’ed the French World Cup winner on Twitter, a bold move, but one which is testament to his confidence and self-belief.
What a contest this promises to be…
