British newspaper, the Daily Mail has included two Irish players in their ‘Young English Premier League XI’.

No surprises here, as an English outlet has once again tried to claim Irish players as their own.

This is not the first time an Irish man or woman has been labelled as ‘English’ by a British news outlet. We can find plenty of recent examples of this like Conor McGregor or Katie Taylor being claimed by England.

The two young men have both already played for Ireland and there is almost no chance they scrap their current allegiance and register for Ireland, both the British still hold out hope.

Ferguson is currently lighting up the Premier League for Brighton while Hodge has been performing well in the middle of the park for Wolves.
