Newcastle United have reportedly identified Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga as a summer transfer target.

Kepa signed for Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao for a world-record fee spent on a goalkeeper. It’s safe to say that, despite a recent resurgence, he hasn’t justified that immense expenditure.

Edouard Mendy is comfortably Chelsea’s number one goalkeeper, which leaves Kepa just the cup games to feature in. That’s not going to be sufficient for him long-term.

The expectation is that Chelsea and Kepa will look to part ways when an attractive proposal is put on the table. As per the Daily Star, Newcastle could be the ones to provide it.
