Paris Saint-Germain have taken the lead over Manchester City at the Etihad through Kylian Mbappe.
After a fairly even opening 15 minutes, Man City asserted their dominance on the contest. Pep Guardiola will have been left scratching his bald head at half-time wondering how on earth his side were not leading.
City started the second period brightly, but when you’re facing a side with PSG’s attacking options, you can ill afford to switch off, even for a second. The Premier League champions did, and Kylian Mbappe captialised.
Lionel Messi linked well with PSG left-back Nuno Mendes down the left before delivering the ball into the penalty area. It fell at the feet of Mbappe, who drilled it through the legs of Ederson and into the back of the net.
Man City will be left ruing their missed opportunities, with Guardiola’s men currently heading through to the knockout stages as runners-up, which is less than ideal…
