Martin Keown and Simon Jordan argue over the personality of Graham Potter

Martin Keown and Simon Jordan have locked horns over their opinions on whether Graham Potter is “too nice”.

Potter is known for not being the loudest manager on the touchline, keeping himself in check as he watches his team from afar.

On Talksport this morning, Keown and Jordan disagreed on each other’s beliefs about Potter’s personality.

Their disagreements come after Potter was asked by the media on Saturday whether or not Thomas Soucek should have been penalised for handball to which he responded “Sometimes you just need things to go in your favour.”

Maybe Potter is too nice, maybe he does need to get angry,” said Keown.

I don’t want outrage, I want to see some controlled opinion.”

Jordan then chipped in, saying that the Chelsea boss wouldn’t be getting questioned over his mannerisms if the Blues weren’t in a bad run of form.

If Chelsea were sitting top of the league and Potter was hitting the ground running, nobody would be questioning the way he responds to things. He’s a calm, relatively sedate individual that thinks about things before he says them.”

Potter will hope his side’s fortunes can be turned around on Wednesday when Chelsea travel to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
