Legendary status in the Premier League isn’t easily earned but one Manchester United legend believes that Liverpool’s Mo Salah is well on his way to earning the title reports the Daily Mail.
Speaking on BT Sport, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was full of praise for the Egyptian following his brilliant performance against RB Leipzig in the last 16 of the Champions League.
‘It just shows you this guy’s standards that he’s set are just so high but he’s maintaining it,’ Ferdinand told BT Sport.
‘For top players it’s not about one season or two seasons, it’s about maintaining it over a course of three, four or five seasons and he’s doing that.
‘He’s going to go down as one of the best to play in the Premier League, definitely as a goalscorer, because those levels are huge.’
Salah was on the scoresheet in Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over RB Leipzig in the first leg of their last 16 showdown with the Germans in the Champions League.
The Egyptian king netted his 24th goal of the season after latching onto a stray pass from Leipzig before emphatically slotting home in the 53rd minute.

The victory over Leipzig puts Jurgen Klopp’s men in the driving seat for the return leg at Anfield as the Reds carry a two away goal advantage into the game.
Tuesday night’s fixture had to be played in Budapest due to Germany imposing a travel ban on all UK flights entering the country due to the current global pandemic.
