Manchester United and Arsenal have been scrapping it out for a top four spot – they now look set to take that battle into the summer transfer market.
While at the start of the season you would have considered both Man United and Arsenal serious challengers for Champions League qualification, with the pair having been among the league’s big spenders over the summer, it hasn’t quite panned out as either side would have hoped.
Man United’s struggles have been well documented, with the Red Devils likely to be fortunate to secure so much as a Europa League qualification spot at this point. As for Arsenal, they were well-positioned but now face the possibility of being beaten to the post by arch-rivals Tottenham.

Needless to say, both sides will be investing heavily in the summer transfer window in order to prepare themselves for the battles which lay ahead next season. As per The Sun, there’s one player in particular that both clubs would be keen on getting through the door – Max Aarons.

Aarons, who plays as a full-back for Norwich City, has been highly rated since his youth – and he’s still only 22. The suggestion is that both Man United and Arsenal would be keen on signing him for a fee in the region of £20m this summer. Whether either will be successful is a different story…
