Romelu Lukaku has sent a text to former teammate Tim Howard claiming that the situation at Chelsea is “hot” ahead of his meeting with Thomas Tuchel on Monday.
Lukaku landed himself in trouble with his manager and the Chelsea fans after an interview he conducted with Sky Italia. The Belgian was seen as being disrespectful to the club that recently spent £97m to sign him, having revealed his desire to return to Inter Milan and that he never wanted to leave in the first place.
After the utter sh*tstorm which has followed the release of the interview, which saw Lukaku dropped from the Chelsea matchday squad as they took on Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, you’d have thought that he would learn to keep his mouth shut. Apparently, that isn’t possible for the big Belgian.

Lukaku probably shouldn’t have been leaking details of his Chelsea situation to Tim Howard, but perhaps he didn’t expect his former teammate to have thrown him under the bus in this manner. Either way, it’s out now, and it’s not going to do him any favours when it comes to repairing his relationship with the Chelsea fanbase.
