Liverpool vs Manchester United breaks Sky Sports viewer record

Liverpool vs Manchester United was a battle for the top of the Premier League table but it ended up being a 0-0 goalless drought.

That didn’t stop over 4.8 million people tuning in in the final 5 minutes of play. It became the biggest ever audience for an event exclusively shown on Sky Sports.

Sky are reporting that the game had an average of 4.5m viewers throughout the game.

The Anfield match overtook the past record holder which was Manchester City beating Manchester United 1-0 in April of 2012.

This also makes yesterday’s game the second most watched Premier League game of all time, right behind last June’s Merseyside derby which was shown free-to-are on Pick TV and Sky One simultaneously.

The 0-0 draw means United stay top of the table and Ole’s side’s surge for the title continues with 3 teams close behind in Manchester City, Leicester City and Liverpool.

Who do you think is going to win the Premier League this season and will anyone else break this record before June?
