Liverpool identify blockbuster transfer priority with January on the horizon

Liverpool have reportedly already identified their priority transfer focus ahead of the January transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp neglected to splash out on a midfielder over the summer transfer window as it was not deemed a priority area by the German.

He performed a late-window U-turn and acquired Arthur Melo from Juventus on a season-long loan. He is now out injured for up to FOUR MONTHS.

Rather predictably, Liverpool are expected to dip back into the transfer market this coming January in order to plug the void that will be left by Arthur.

According to Football Insider, Klopp is not going to cheap out on another stop-gap, either. He’s given the green light to a blockbuster addition.

Both Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and West Ham United’s Declan Rice are mentioned as potential targets in the report by Football Insider.

It’s hard to imagine either of them moving mid-season, though. Liverpool may well be best off sticking with what they have until the summer of 2023.
