The rivalry between Manchester United and Liverpool is a strong one. Both clubs have enjoyed tremendous success and their relative closeness makes their dislike of each other that bit more palpable.
Rivalries can be healthy and sometimes a bit of respect can go a long way and that’s exactly what one Liverpool fan wants to show Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford.
Have any Liverpool fan groups arranged for a banner to be on the Kop this weekend for Marcus Rashford?
Hunger has no colours. Thank you, Marcus.

Rashford has been campaigning to end childhood hunger in the UK and the 23-year-old has made an incredible impact.
The England international began using his social media power to convince local authorities, businesses and ultimately the government to help families that rely heavily on free school meals, food parcels and vouchers.

There’s not a county in England hasn’t benefitted from Rashford’s work and one Liverpool fan suggested hanging a banner of Rashford as a thank you on behalf of the children of Merseyside.
Understandably some fans were for it and some against but here is some of the Twitter reaction following the suggestion.
This ain’t about football rivalry – this is about the government not providing for the children in this nation and a young footballer having to make a stand and help. Anyone who can’t put football rivalries aside needs their head shaking https://t.co/1dsLSyFkge

I was going to. I even went as far as to design it, and then he gave an exclusive to the S*n. It doesn’t undo all the good things he’s done, but it should prevent us from making a banner for him. pic.twitter.com/2HIVd0reBz

Nothing like a tiny gesture of gratitude for a young man, who happens to be a footballer, who has addressed an issue far bigger than football, to get the Tories in our fan base to reveal themselves.
Liverpool FC is about so much more than just football.

I get the hate about the rag. I really do. But he’s not a Liverpool fan. Believe it or not, there are a lot of uneducated people in the world who have no idea about how vile they are or why we have such a vendetta against them.
I don’t think we should hold that against him.— Tim (@TimD2704) January 12, 2021
Fuck that. Marcus is doing a boss job, I’m all for what he’s doing off the pitch but leave it at that.
