Liverpool could be set to enter the race to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, according to Football Insider.

Rice has been phenomenal for both West Ham and England for the best part of two years now. He’s the real deal, there’s now no doubt.

There have been continual links to Chelsea, his boyhood club, but no transfer has materialised. Liverpool could now be set to take advantage.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are very interested in signing Rice and are thought to be preparing a move to secure his services.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is believed to be a HUGE fan of the youngster, with Liverpool in dire need of a long-term solution in the central midfield area.

Whether Liverpool’s owners FSG would be willing to pay in excess of £100m in order to get a deal done is another matter entirely.

However, they spent big on Darwin Nunez in the summer window, could that be a sign of what’s to come in the coming seasons?
