Hamilton is due to be knighted after becoming the most successful F1 driver in history after equalling the great Michael Schumacher’s remarkable win record earlier this year.

Following his success the Brit is expected to be named in the New Year Honour’s List on Thursday despite concerns about his status as a ‘tax exile.’

Outside of racing Hamilton used his platform to promote the Black Lives Matter movement which led to the already MBE winning the BBC Sports Personality of the Year for the second time.

There was some controversy surrounding Hamilton’s knighthood due to his status as a tax exile but Prime Minister Boris Johnson dismissed them has ensured that the F1 World Champion will become Sir. Lewis Hamilton.
