Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe missed an absolute SITTER during his side’s win over Ajaccio last night, proving he is human after all.
Alongside Manchester City goal-machine Erling Haaland, Mbappe is set to lead football’s next generation, having received the baton from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
His electric speed, mesmerising footwork and devastating finishing ability make him a rather unwelcome prospect for opposing defenders, who oftentimes do not stand a chance.
It’s for that exact reason that the Ajaccio back-line and goalkeeper couldn’t have believed their luck on Friday night after Mbappe produced one of the misses of the season.
You’d have bet your car, house and dog on the Frenchman converting from close range after being teed up by PSG teammate Achraf Hakimi, but remarkably, he fluffed his lines.
We’ve watched this back at least 50 times now and quite simply cannot figure out how the ball hasn’t nestled in the back of the Ajaccio net. It just defies belief!
Even world-class players miss sitters from time to time…
